The doc says it is improving but that if I stop the antibiotics too soon the infection might start raging again. This thing has gone from a worrisome event to a new experience (infusion) to a daily bore and now it has become a PITA.
When I get to feeling sorry for myself I start thinking about the other people who are going for treatments also. Most for a lot worse infections than I have and a few who are battling cancer. That puts things back in perspective and I thank God for guiding me to the doctor's before I had a real bad problem. Spending four hours a day getting these treatments really is better than going to physical therapy to learn to walk on a prosthesis.
Ten minutes after I left the house this morning I noticed some pretty flashing lights in my rear view mirror. Officer Meyers of the Galveston PD was pulling me over to ask me if I knew what the speed limit was. I had a brief smart ass thought of saying "you're the cop you should already know" but thought better of it. He was very stern and never came close to being pleasant. I think he was practicing to be a state trooper when he grows up.
I wasn't really paying attention so don't know what speed I was traveling but I do drive fast so he was probably right when he wrote "70 in a 50" on my ticket. I may try an insanity defense but will probably end up taking the defensive driving course.
I seem to get a ticket every two to three years. Connie on the other hand has only had one speeding ticket. We were on our way to our honeymoon and she was driving while I slept. She told the trooper we were on our way to our honeymoon but he didn't care. The judge was a little more entertained by the thought and let her off.
I want to end by wishing my mother a happy birthday. She turns 21 plus fifty something on Monday.
Happy Birthday Mom!!!!!!!!! Thanks for everything. I love you.
Mom and her husband Bob. Smile Bob!
Adios for now, enjoy the day.

Hey Rod, you should have claimed your bum leg got stuck on the gas pedal and you couldn't move it off! Like that would work!!
ReplyDeleteSure am sorry about the leg but you have the right thoughts. It could be so much worse. This too shall pass....and you will be good as new very soon.
ReplyDeleteNow about that speeding ticket...well what can I say??? Rick had a good idea but it sounds like the man in charge wasn't in that kind of mood.

When I think of all the breaks I gave when I was on the street it seem's like now the guy's don't give as many. Maybe it is turning into the big dollar thing where they figure if they give a ticket they will have some money to buy equipment they need, wishfull thinking as most fines go into the school districts and general revenue and by the tine the politicians get done there is lttle left for police budget's.Be safe out there. ReplyDeleteRod~
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your leg is healing slower than you would like, but keep going to those treatments. We want you to get healthy so that you can continue working towards your long-term plans. Sorry, too, about the speeding ticket, but look at it this way - you've now gotten your annual ticket out of the way and don't have to worry for another year! :)
Well....My son-in-law is a "Copper"..When he was in the black and white he said he gave everyone 9 mph over the speed limit...Seems like you may have exceeded that one.
ReplyDeleteSure hope that leg is 100% real soon...I hate having "appointments" to keep...I like to keep everything spontaneous...
