Rod was off at the crack-of-dawn for another daily infusion of Cubicin. As of 2 days ago, he started taking the Oxycycline orally so it cut down is infusion time by one hour. Its an hour drive each way, then 2 hours of infusion, so he is tiring of this daily routine in a big way. Cutting the infusion time in half is a good thing.
Right now, we are awaiting word from his doctor for an appointment with an Infectious Disease Specialist. His doctor is referring him since his improvement has been slow and not very significant. He too is frustrated with this infection.
Hopefully, we'll at least know what the next form of treatment will be soon.
On a happier note, I've had Chase our grandson here for the last couple of days and really enjoy just hanging out with him. We talk about everything and anything and he enjoys cooking so he's always hitting me up for recipes. Yesterday, I asked him what he wanted for breakfast, he said "what are my choices?" I said, "you can have scrambled eggs, french toast, an omelet, pancakes or eggs Benedict." He said, "Oh, I'll have the eggs Benedict." Sooooo Eggs Benedict is what I made for him. Brat. LOL He wants the recipe so he can make it for his family. :) Chase loves to make breakfast and so far he makes a killer omelet, chorizo, potatoe and egg tacos, fried egg sandwiches, and soon Eggs Benedict. Not bad for a 12 year old.
Yesterday when I went outside and there he stood with the lawn mower ready to mow the yard for us. He's such a good kid. It's nearly 100 degrees but that didn't stop him. He did a great job !!! :) Thanks Chase! :)
Hopefully Rod will get a chance to spend some time with him before he goes home today. He starts 7th grade on Monday so his Mom wants him home to get prepared.
Thanks for following and have a great day everyone!
Connie
Sure sounds like Rod has really been battling this infection...Probably time to get to a specialist and kick butt on it!! Any infection can bring your body down...
ReplyDeleteHey, could you send Chase over to mow our yard?? It's a big yard, but we have a John Deere!!!
